Apart from possibly improving an individual’s career prospects, relocation to the USA offers generous rewards both mentally and financially.

To help immigrants settle, community groups are spread throughout the country, and places of worship are everywhere, to suit every religious belief.

Once a USA visa holder is granted permanent resident status, he has the right to permanently live and work anywhere in the country, apply to become a citizen of the USA, when eligible, request visas for husband, wife or unmarried children, receive supplemental income, social security and medical benefits if eligible, own property in the USA, apply for a driver’s license in the state in which he or she is resident, leave and return to the US under certain conditions, attend public school, join the U.S. Armed Forces in certain branches and own a firearm unless there are local restrictions.

To become a USA immigrant, a foreign individual needs to secure a visa. For short-term visa services, you should apply for the B1 business visa and B2 travel visa. For longer periods and to work and live in the US, an L1 visa and H1B visa should be applied for. Foreign individuals, who wish to establish their own business in the country, need to have either an E1 or E2 visa.

Longer term USA immigration requires EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4 and EB-5 visas, which are all designed to permit qualifying individuals to apply for permanent residency in the country through employment opportunities. There are several other routes for this category, based on family ties and the American Green Card Lottery.
